Who We Are

Carved out of the woods in 2009, Flying Squirrel Bakery Café is a family owned and operated bakery and eatery serving pastries, artisan breads and creative savory items year round. Owner and pastry chef, Anita Golton envisioned this dream after learning while doing at bakeries, cafes and restaurants in Vermont, Massachusetts and Alaska. Flying Squirrel proudly features fruits and vegetables grown on her husband Brian's Talkeetna farm, Birch Creek Ranch.

Flying Squirrel sits on the traditional homeland of the Dena’ina Ełnena, and more specifically, the Dghelay Teht’ana and K’dalkitnu Ht’ana. We recognize and honor the land, culture and language of the Dena’ina people.
