Hello All, April already. I always thought February was the shortest month, but March sure did fly by! The warmth and sunlight and melting mess is welcome - it's time to break out the break up boots. April is bringing a few fun things to check out at the Squirrel so here they are.
	Second Saturday Art Opening My dear friend, my awesome employee Tasja's mom, former Talkeetna resident, and just plain crazy Dutch lady Tinker is coming up from Anchor Point to hang some of her work on the walls at Flying Squirrel! Join us this coming Saturday, April 10 from 3-5pm for an opening reception and visit with the artist. Colors of Persuasion: new paintings and mixed media by Tinker will be on display through the first week in May.
Earth Day Thursday, April 22 is Earth Day! Come in to Flying Squirrel on Earth Day and get a free baby spider house plant! Even better, come to Flying Squirrel by non-motorized means on Earth Day and get a DOUBLE Mike Fisher discount!
	SUN BREAD A cooking class for little chefs 3-5 years old Sunday, April 25, 1-3pm. Oliver and his friends were feeling left out of all the fun we had in the kids cooking classes! This age group of kids can do all kinds of great things in the kitchen. In this hands on class we will work together to make bread sculptures and soft pretzels as well as read fun stories about bread.
Dough will be mixed ahead of time so there will be time to bake, eat and take home some of our creations. Please bring one parent to class and try to leave older siblings at home. Many of you know him as a tile guy from Hawaii, but he's moonlighting making pizza for us just for fun. There will also be a few other new faces starting to roll in with the busier season almost upon us. It will be great to pick up the pace, meet some new folks, and compare cappuccino techniques! Jenny, Genna and Alayne at the front counter and Matt as a baker and cook will be added on to the already amazing team that has been making and serving Flying Squirrel fare all winter. We'll do our best to train them up and keep the creative, tasty foods flowing.
